With Southwest Airlines’ holiday sale that takes 25% off of base fares, it is starting to look more and more like savings for customers of the airline.
According to the airline, reservations for the sale must be made before the end of the business day on December 7 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT). The deal is valid on select flights for Travel over the Christmas and New Year’s holiday periods. This offer is valid on Wanna Get Away, Wanna Get Away Plus, Anytime, and Business Select one-way and round-trip fares for Travel on December 24, December 25, December 31, or January 1, 2023.
Travelers who wish to take advantage of this offer can do so by booking their flights on Southwest’s website and entering the promo code “HOLIDAY25.”
“We know the holiday season is a busy time, and we’re here to make your travel as seamless as possible,” said Bill Tierney, vice president of marketing and digital experience at Southwest Airlines to Travel + Leisure. “We’re here to make your travel as easy as possible.” Thanks to this promotion, customers can save money and “Go with Heart” into the holiday season.
This sale is valid on select flights throughout Southwest’s network within the continental United States. These flights include those between cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles, New York and Orlando, Boston and Las Vegas, and more.
In addition to the sale itself, Southwest has made it less expensive and more convenient to island hop throughout Hawaii by offering $39 one-way flights between the islands during their sale, which will run through the end of the year. Southwest Airlines operates nonstop service to four of the most populous islands in the Hawaiian archipelago: the Big Island, Maui, Oahu, and Kauai. Hilo and Kona are the two airports that are serviced by the airline while traveling on the Big Island.
Additionally, Southwest is in the process of enhancing its in-flight experience by increasing the size of its overhead bins, installing USB A and USB C power ports on each seat, and upgrading its Wi-Fi service.
Throughout the summer, the airline also made it possible for customers to purchase a boarding upgrade online within twenty-four hours of the scheduled departure time of their flight, and it formally did away with expiration dates for flight credits.
Want to Get Away Plus is Southwest Airlines’ newest fare class, which was introduced earlier this year. It provides passengers with greater flexibility and enables them to transfer eligible unused flight credits to another person for use at a later time.
One carry-on bag, one personal item, and two checked bags are included free of charge with every Southwest ticket purchased. Additionally, the airline does not impose any change fees on its bookings.
